What if you are only responsible, only powerful . . .
to heal?

What if healing isn't about new age practices, or talk therapy, affirmations,
mindset shift, or any other act of will.

What if healing in this traumatic age is actually your birthright /obligation
to engage relationally in ceremonial resolution/prevention of all the traumas,
big and small in an ancient and innovative,
powerful and efficient community process?

The persistent and unresolved rupture that so often follows trauma
in our current world is not a universal and necessary reality.
Traumatic rupture itself is part of the reality of human suffering
and also of crafting resilience.

All the lasting traumatic damage is the result,
not of trauma-medicine itself,
but of our current dominant paradigm –
its deconstruction and removal of the Indigenous
and embodied ceremonial arts
practiced by initiated individuals within communities as a whole.
Our global ancestral cultures and the ceremonies that went with them
were protective and must be restored
with care and authenticity . . .
if we want to move through this apocalypse.

What if you are not to blame?

When you read memes calling to you be a more peaceful parent (partner/friend/community-member) and you cringe either a little or a lot . . .
I see you.

When you want to host a naming ceremony but stop for fear of being called an appropriator or a fraud even when you come from lineages too, I want more for you.

When you read other's feeds about how wonderful and juicy their beloved partner is
and you wonder if you should get divorced . . .
I get it.

When you hit that threshold of overwhelm, that seems to come sooner with each new day as a mama, and react with gruffness or anger . . .
I see you.

When you wake in the night, yet another time to nurse, and your instinct isn't love and care, but frustration and rage, and you go a little more into hiding . . .
I stand for you.

When you read the memes about how a woman must be peaceful at all costs during pregnancy and birth or her child will be traumatized, and you shrink in shame . . .
I weep for you.

The world is full of advice and demands on mothers,
using your most precious children as weapons
to keep you paralyzed and hiding.

I have created a space all about addressing your mama worries. It is a space of care, connection, compassion, and healing

If you’re like most mothers, at some point before, during and after your baby is born, you probably find yourself falling short of your ideal, spinning out over regrets, wrestling with who’s to blame, or wondering why you are doing that thing (you know, the thing you know you shouldn’t do) again in spite of all your good intentions and willpower.

I know how easy it is to feel overloaded by advice, paralyzed by pressure, and defeated by the reality of being responsible for other little people before or after they’re born. Its no wonder many women resign themselves to the demands of being a perfect mother and, trying to do it all, neglect their own needs, ignore their own intuitions, or falling short, feel isolated and inadequate.

That concern, fear, regret or response that keeps bugging you . . . well, you've tried ignoring it, or telling yourself that time will heal it, maybe blaming yourself and/or others . . . you may have tried affirmations and visualizations, or planning your experience . . . or telling your story.

You've tried being bigger than it, learning from it . . . but none of these has brought you real lasting peace and freedom. ok . . . here’s the thing, much of the resources available for mothers are chock full of so much fear inducing, insecurity breeding, and seemingly unattainable advice they are hard to swallow for long - and even if you are able to follow someone’s advice, the consequence is often a slow-dull-ache-of-a-sense that you just aren’t quite good enough of a mother to let go, just be, and celebrate your birth, your baby, and your family . . .

A way that honors all that you are without ignoring all you dream of becoming. The lēmniscāta membership is a different kind of place, one that pulls in new and ancient process and resources for navigating the beauty of mothering your children, nourishing your partnership, family, your life, your community and this incredible aching world.

lēmniscāta is a sisterhood dedicated to re-membering and restoring the female mysteries, the mother-mission, the together and among-ness of living in right relationship with all things. It is a place of emergence and liberation, accompaniment and witness-ing. lēmniscāta is a facilitated therapeutic community where you can heal and recover in a lovingly held, warm and welcoming embrace.

4 phases of the journey

In order to have a resilient nervous system you will first need to anchor yourself in a visceral sense of your ideals and intentions. These will naturally lead to a settling of your nervous system and slowly to the awareness of each of your worries. As you gently shift between these two poles with all your senses, intellect and spirit, you begin to allow integration of the two poles through the wisdom of the body and its archetypal healing motions. You find permanent resolution, and it feels good.

As you recover resilience and your own authentic story, you also begin to rest in inquiry rather than seek answers. You begin to recover ancestral & relational kin connections that are important to you. You even have a sense of the universal ingredients of celebration, ritual and ceremony and turn to the Earth herself to remember the Sacred. Its all there for you. As you do this you begin to make sense of all the outside information and advice, and gain confidence in your own intuitions and knowing as a woman and mother.

After addressing a critical mass of your smaller personal traumas, you deepen your re-membering ancestral ways, connecting to the earth and cosmos, and making kin-community, you are in a place to serve. You get support when you need it and offer it when it's needed. You need fewer and fewer "rules" and instead embody philosophies, principles and teachings. Threshold passages are smoother now as  you cycle back through the stages and support the return to rhythm of the world.

A side-efffect of recovering a resilient nervous system is the meaning that emerges along the way. First you identify and clarify your survival story, the one in which you struggle, are overwhelmed, confused or defeated and slowly as each rupture in your being resolves, you piece together a new and heroic personal & ancestral  mythology. You then pass your story on to your children and are able to help them know their own true and meaningful story. You are a part of recovering and passing down the ancestral wisdom of your people - even if your lineage has been broken.

As you begin to move toward and into cosmic-psycho-somatic rhythm you will begin to notice the myriad thresholds that offer themselves to you, that call to you, that require response from you. This is both an acquired skill, a restored ability, a practice, and an obligation . . .

4 phases of the journey

somatic earth wisdom

You are a mama who is willing to be honest,
a m(other) who knows that the female body is an original instruction,
but who also knows that her self and mothering is mixed-up
from generations of trauma and cultural confusion.

The lēmniscāta mystery school membership will support you
in healing and learning the basics of earth-based mothering.

After a major RESTORATION phase, you will begin to feel more RESILIENT and your whole past present and future will unfold into a new mythology, a RE-STORYING.

You will have a new myth where the ruptures are beginning to be mended, where a new story is emerging and your somatic-earth-cosmos relation begins to become palpable. You begin to traverse the path with grace and RHYTHM, carefully tending the myriad THRESHOLDS.

Your work as a mother - whether giving birth, adopting a child, integrating yourself into a blended family, preparing your child for their coming of age, or mentoring your grown children and community as an elder - this program is about re-membering an "ancient future" that is full of humble knowing, among-ness, and personal integrity.

I am now entering my eldership, after a long incubation in silent and sacred unwinding of the teachings of my Elders. It is time for me to speak, to share, to stand in my medicine obligation and my place as re-membering knowledge keeper.

This work is what my elders and the earth and cosmos have trained me to facilitate. A from-the-ground-up re-membering of the world ceremonies that can repair this world. The kind of repair that generates new genuinely regenerative paradigms.

I am grateful to be among the uncertain, those who humbly know they are not of/from perfect lineage, but who turn to the teachings they do have with humility, to the earth herself, to fragments, and to exile without abandoning their obligation to serve in these times of polarization and strife.

about krista

Tīciyōtl is the Nahuatl word for the Indigenous medicine of the Mexica people and their descendants. Tīciyōtl, medicine, does not come from the Latin and does not refer to the diagnosis and treatment of disease based on the scientific medical model. Rather it is closely related to the realms of soothsaying and divination. It lives in the context of Indigenous ways of knowing and being that are connected to all things (even those considered to be non-living by the western paradigm). Tīciyōtl is non-hierarchical, non-linear, non-binary, relational, poetic, emotional, personal and process-based. Tīciyōtl is an art. That means we work together with all things. I am your fellow traveler, not your superior. We will work in spirals toward internal (body, psyche, soul) and external (oppressive structures, cultural restoration, global recovery) transformation.

Myth Mending is also, and primarily, rooted in Indigenous tīciyōtl, in the theory and practice of the traditional “return to ourselves” Earth-medicine. In particular, I work with the Temazcalli, Limpias, rebozo sobadas, dream-craft (temictli and temixoch), and other curative arts as embodied in the present through my personal experience and calling.

I have learned these arts mostly from regular people as well as brief relationships with Indigenous Elders and teachers. I honor, without claiming apprenticeship or lineage, Tela Star Hawk Lake (Yurok – moonblood), Cher Bear Lyons (sweat lodge), David Forlines (Quileute – plant medicine, cultural restoration), Basil Brave Heart (Lakota – ceremony to open the path for me to find my Indigenous lineage), Michael Paul Hill (Apache – coming of age ceremony), Tonita Gonzales (Xicana – temazcalli), Rita Navarrete Perez (Mexican – temazcalli, sobadas y hierbas), Dayana Paz (Mexican – temazcalli), and Francesca Mason Boring (Shoshone – constellation ceremony).

Myth Mending, as I practice it, is also based in part on the contributions of Hippocrates, Plato, Carl Jung, Peter Levine, Gabor Maté, Rudolf Steiner, Bert Hellinger, James Hillman, Arny Mindell, David White, Pam England, and Whapio Diane Bartlett. In learning from these teachers, I acknowledge both their contribution to the art and science of transformation and their debt to Indigenous people who supplied, often without specific community or individual recognition, much of the material upon which their work is built.

Within the western paradigm, I have trained as a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, Family Constellation facilitator, Theater of the Oppressed facilitator, and Nutritional Therapist. I have also trained in Anthroposophy, Craniosacral Therapy and Processwork as well as a Birth Keeping, and Death Midwifery. I am a doctoral candidate in Interdisciplinary Indigenous Studies at the University of British Columbia. I work with Indigenous girls, women and mothers in restoring ceremonial practices of birth and mothering. I also have an MA in Depth Psychology with a concentration in Community Psychology, Liberation Psychology and Eco Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Nothing I’ve tried has come close to the kind of immediate, deep affect that working with Krista has provided. Her methods are so gentle and intuitive that it’s hard to believe the powerful results. If you’ve tried all the healthy living fads, diet programs, all the different therapies, alternative and conventional, and are still feeling stuck, please set up an appointment with Krista, and get ready for a breakthrough!

GET READY FOR A BREAKTHROUGH

~ CHELSEA ACKERMAN

I found Krista’s work to provide the most rapid and dramatic healing I’ve ever experienced. Her work really mends the body-wisdom gap we all experience by living in this distorted disconnected culture. It helps release historical trauma without having to talk it out in therapy hour after hour after hour. Krista is compassionate, connected, and present.

MOST RAPID AND DRAMATIC HEALING . . . EVER

~ JENNY RAE WALTER

I had an incredible session with Krista. I was able to pin point the family patterns that have contributed to letting the ball drop in my work life, where I could pull support from my ancestral line and make peace with this recurring issue. I felt complete acceptance and non-judgement. Krista is and intuitive, caring and attentive guide. She has a way of engaging me in the session and adding just the right insights, words and spaces to lead to a breakthrough. I will be back for topics that feel too big, deep and difficult to move through on my own.

COMPLETE ACCEPTANCE AND NON-JUDGEMENT

~ ANN DORN SEREGOW

I’ve experienced deep and beautiful changes in just a few sessions working with Krista. Her intuitive and heart-centered approach is gentle and genuine, guided by a belief in the wisdom that the body never lies. Krista brought her kind spirit, vast knowledge and desire to grow personally to every meeting, guiding me gently and capably. She truly is a “wise woman of the tribe,” a healer who is part of the community she serves.

DEEP AND BEAUTIFUL CHANGES

~ LISELLE VETSCH

Krista held a beautiful space for me. A space free of anyone’s judgments, fears or preconceptions… except my own. In holding that space she gave me the opportunity and gentle guidance to look at these and walk through them. I came out on the other side feeling more committed and surrendered. The work we did was simpler than I expected, but profound in it’s simplicity. I experienced the complete solidification of trust in my own intuition, my ability to make it through anything, and renewed faith that, whatever the outcome, my baby was meant to be born in this way (breech).

. . . A BEAUTIFUL SPACE

~ ABRA ANN STOLTE

I liked the actual feeling of healing in my body. It was immediate and apparent and intense. The three biggest benefits have been the reassurance and awareness that I am where I need to be, a great feeling of calm and relaxation, and feeling ready to finally leave behind debilitating patterns and stories that no longer serve me. Krista is truly amazing.

WARM COMPASSIONATE AND HUMAN

~ KAMEE ABRAHAMIAN

Myth mending is a profound way to heal personal and cultural patterns we are stuck in because of trauma. Through Krista's work, I am finding new ways to engage with (or not engage with) toxic patterns and learning how to trust the movements that my body organically makes to do “the thing” without having to rely on my head/words. I have considered seeing a regular therapist in the past, but don’t feel I have the capacity to make them understand my issues in a way that doesn’t make me feel even more messed up. If you are sick of western psychological pathologizing you and telling you how to think and feel and heal, go to Krista. She is: Clear. Complex. Tender. I trust Krista wholeheartedly.

CLEAR. COMPLEX. TENDER

~ TAMI BRUNK

In just one Myth Mending session Krista identified the core struggle I was facing at a somatic level, and used very simple and powerful tools to get me in my body actively shifting the dynamic that I'd been trapped in for so long. The impact of that has remained with me long after my session with Krista. Krista's work gets down to the bones of the issue and works it through in a primal way, at the root. I loved her ability to hone in through the complexity of issues I brought forward, down to the core of what I needed to heal. Krista is Gentle, Powerful, Wise. She is deeply intuitive and can see what is hidden, to support you in mending fragmented aspects of your being and support your shift toward empowerment!

POWERFUL

~ FRANCA HAESLER

Myth Mending enabled me to connect inner emotional dis-ease and turmoil with embodied practice and return to modes of release and expression. It is unique. Rather than just talking through my inner state, I was able to go into a deeper place, explore and see what came out and how. I discovered aspects of myself that I hadn’t been aware of before and I was able to heal. Krista is personal, strong and nurturing. Her presence is incredibly stabilizing and supportive which over time allowed for a true discovery, release, and understanding.

DISCOVERY, RELEASE, AND UNDERSTANDING

~ MARTHA LETESSIER

The Lazy-Lady Living coursework delved deeper than I expected and gave me an extra push in deepening my spiritual practice. I go back to things like Sacred Slaughter, dealing with death and permaculture in general. If you join the program, you’re in for a delicious treat. I am humbled by the generosity and wealth of information that Krista shares.

DEEPENING MY SPIRITUAL PRACTICE

~ DYANNA GORDON

Being able to talk to someone who really understood the struggles that come as you move through the midwifery journey was extremely helpful. Also having someone who was unbiased and non judgmental regarding experience etc. was heart warming. I was surprised with how much trauma I still had stored and how it was affecting me moving on in my practice. I have been able to clarify where I stand. Krista was wonderful to work with. Unjudgemental, flexible and supportive. She didn’t rush the process allowing plenty of time for me to move through my emotions and thoughts but also made sure that our time together was well worth our while and resources. It was a great experience.

CRUCIAL TO MY DEVELOPMENT

~ MARIANNE GOTZ

Before I started working with Krista, I was afraid to have to dig deep and struggle. Now I know that dealing with trauma doesn’t have to be difficult. Krista’s Soft Animal / Myth Mending process has gone past my brain right into the cells of my body, the animal within, and only pure honest discoveries have come forth. I loved the sacredness of working with Krista, the idea that our ancestors are involved, the wholeness – involving our mind, body, spirit and beyond – right down to items for the altar. If you are open to learning a unique way to deal with trauma and become more resilient for future ones, work with Krista!

MIND, BODY, SPIRIT AND BEYOND

~ JULIE SHIPRACK

Lazy-Lady Living has taught me that the type of human being I am will greatly inform how and why I sow seeds and grow plants/vegetables/herbs. All that matters is that I start to make small, meaningful changes daily. LLL has helped me to approach challenges and struggles in a fresh way, with curiosity and passion to find creative solutions. The material is so deep that I think one could spend a lifetime contemplating and there would still be more to learn. Lazy-Lady Living reveals how preciously intertwined we all are. When one can really feel how interconnected one is to the rest of the world, it becomes easier to make choices that will benefit the Whole.

REVEALS HOW PRECIOUSLY INTERTWINED WE ALL ARE

~  AILEEN PETERSON

Lazy Lady Living surpassed my expectations. I was blown away by the amount of content as well as the depth of the topics that we covered. Lazy Lady Living is a very well-rounded program that touches base on a lot of things that I feel a typical permaculture program may not. My biggest benefits from the course are knowledge of nature-based ‘gardening’ for optimal output with less effort while being better for the environment, your health, knowledge of home-death, and the concept of the gift-economy and practicing without licensure.

BLOWN AWAY . . .

~ ANN MICHAEL

I loved Lazy-Lady Living. It presented me with new and profound ideas that I had not thought of before. The class was so much more than about agriculture, permaculture and biodynamics. It was about life and death, celebration, working with sorrow, grief, and conflict. Lazy-Lady Living helped me fill in gaps and deepen understandings. Overall, I have a renewed appreciation for the life force/Universe that guides us all, and a deeper trust in myself and my own inner wisdom. Krista brings herself into her work in a way that is genuine and comforting, while still being a strong and effective guide. I am so deeply grateful for the chance to rewrite many of my life’s most challenging stories as time progresses. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you!

NEW AND PROFOUND IDEAS

~ BECKA MUNN

I liked everything about Lazy Lady Living. I will have to immerse myself in living it to completely understand all aspects. Lazy Lady Living has changed my perception immensely. I am now more determined to find land, no matter how small, and more determined to fully live this lifestyle. I am also more focused to delve deeper with this information and incorporate it into all aspects of my life. Lazy Lady Living provides a wealth of knowledge that is delivered in an awesome format – plus, it can be taken anywhere, anytime, and applied to any situation. Awesome work Krista!

CHANGED MY PERCEPTION IMMENSELY

~ ANGELICA RUSHTON

I LOVE Lazy-Ladies & Lads! Krista and her family are living examples of what she teaches. It shows in all her classes and that inspires me. I immediately felt like part of something bigger. LLL gave me so much interesting and useful information to apply to my life; It has changed my family’s lifestyle and I feel awakened to something great! LLL gave me hope - there are people who are actually doing what I want to do and are willing to share it. I recommend LLL because it is jammed packed with a wealth of information to guide you on a journey of a healthy lifestyle. I couldn’t ask for more!

AWAKENED TO SOMETHING GREAT

~ JURGEN HAITSMA

My favorite part of Lazy-Lady Living was the exposure to such a wide range of topics, and the selected deeper learning of certain aspects and the integration of all the various topics into a way of living. I received thorough deepening of knowledge, more exposure to research / resources in several fields (trauma, initiation, permaculture) and practical and fuller integration of theory into everyday life. I also saw how well an online course can be facilitated and the potential for using this as a credible means to deliver knowledge. LLL is the only course I know about that covers the more cultural aspects of permaculture in depth. I also appreciated the connection with Weston A Price principles – an often overlooked “why” of permaculture. It pushes the boundaries with spiritual aspects – something that makes people uncomfortable but should be an accepted part of everyday life.
THANK YOU!

PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES

~ GAEL MINON

The topics in Lazy-Lady Living were great and really added to my understanding of “lazy living”. The videos were very insightful. They are concise and cover the essential learning points. Also they are rather informal as so they feel more like a chat/coaching rather than formalized training. I work for a large corporation and I was looking for the kind of guidance, vision and inspiration that would allow me to take a step further towards a more sensible way of life and I got it. The biggest benefits of the course for me were: a deeper understanding of the spiritual side of farming (Rudolf Steiner and the trauma concepts), a grasp of permaculture and biodynamic agriculture, and aim to apply it to my (small) backyard garden, and an awareness of life cycles (birth and death, green burials). It is quite far ahead of the general public. I’ll need lots of time to digest and assimilate this course!

PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES

~ MARY KINGSLEY

Lazy-Lady Living exposed me to so many resources and so much material, very content rich! Before I enrolled, I just knew I was drawn to it. It tapped into that longing for connection to the source of everything, which is so prevalent now. We can see everywhere on Instagram and Pinterest that women, in particular (but not exclusively), are searching for it — the rise of the Sacred Feminine! I just think this longing, and need, is growing in our culture. I really benefited from all the content, and also the affirmation from being a part of a larger community. I recommend Lazy-Lady Living to friends and colleagues because it gives a real experience of what permaculture is all about.

CRUCIAL TO MY DEVELOPMENT

my most healing moments have been with people who were humble and sitting on lawn chairs offering their vision for a gift of tobacco.

when i created the lēmniscāta mystery school for mamas i wished i could find my own lawn chair and have enough trust and resilience to follow in these Elder's footsteps . . .

tobacco offering is a traditional offering in exchange for
receiving teachings from an Elder or Medicine carry-er.

i mean, what is the price of tobacco these days?

well, after a little google search, i found that a decent pouch runs about $10 if you buy it in bulk.

so, i began pondering how i could share my teachings for the price of a pouch of tobacco (and have it be sustainable) and i can up with a plan . . .

the lēmniscāta MEMBERSHIP

yes, it's true . . . for a the price of a pouch of tobacco/week you can join the lēmniscāta MEMBERSHIP - and receive my weekly worry stone teachings every single week - plus seasonal ceremonies / group processes as well!

Actually, right now you can join for even less!

$7.50/week

$30/month

that's less than what most people pay monthly for for a combination of Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime, Pandora Premium, and coffee-shop lattés . . . or 3 pouches of decent quality tobacco.

this lēmniscāta MEMBERSHIP is something pretty much everyone can afford
and that makes me feel whole . . .

still not sure?
