You know life shouldn’t feel so heavy,
that there should be as much joy as pain,
but right now you feel trapped,
paralyzed, and overwhelmed by it all.
You want to follow, or find, your dreams,
your calling, your myth,
but something just keeps getting in the way.
You’ve tried so many things
it’s hard to count them all.
It shouldn’t be so hard to live the life you want.
From about the time I was 19, I searched the world over
for something to relieve the pain, the obsessing,
the self-hatred, the invasive thoughts and the numbness.
I tried so many things:
conventional therapy, alternative healing paradigms,
positive psychology, spirituality, veganism, and so much more.
By the time I was 30, I had given-up.
I had found poetry and prayer and decided it would have to be enough.
I tried to just get on with my life.
I got married.
. . . I had a baby.
Pregnancy and childbirth cracked me open.
I could no longer let things sit in the status quo
I was in LOVE . . . and
I was devastated.
I was overwhelmed.
I was grief-stricken . . .
and afraid.
I was desperate to heal so I could offer my child something more.
I began the search anew and found something new, and another, and another.
I reached deep into my life experience, my body, my ancestors' call
and my Elders' admonitions to be a teacher and healer and leader . . .
I added them all to a magical basket of wonders
and wove them into a very special process.
I call it Myth Mending®
Tīciyōtl is the Nahuatl word for the Indigenous medicine of the Mexica people and their descendants. Tīciyōtl, medicine, does not come from the Latin and does not refer to the diagnosis and treatment of disease based on the scientific medical model. Rather it is closely related to the realms of soothsaying and divination. It lives in the context of Indigenous ways of knowing and being that are connected to all things (even those considered to be non-living by the western paradigm). Tīciyōtl is non-hierarchical, non-linear, non-binary, relational, poetic, emotional, personal and process-based. Tīciyōtl is an art. That means we work together with all things. I am your fellow traveler, not your superior. We will work in spirals toward internal (body, psyche, soul) and external (oppressive structures, cultural restoration, global recovery) transformation.
Myth Mending® is also, and primarily, rooted in Indigenous tīciyōtl, in the theory and practice of the traditional “return to ourselves” Earth-medicine. In particular, I work with the Temazcalli, Limpias, rebozo sobadas, dream-craft (temictli and temixoch), and other curative arts as embodied in the present through my personal experience and calling.
I have learned these arts mostly from regular people as well as brief relationships with Indigenous Elders and teachers. I honor, without claiming apprenticeship or lineage, Tela Star Hawk Lake (Yurok – moonblood), Cher Bear Lyons (sweat lodge), David Forlines (Quileute – plant medicine, cultural restoration), Basil Brave Heart (Lakota – ceremony to open the path for me to find my Indigenous lineage), Michael Paul Hill (Apache – coming of age ceremony), Tonita Gonzales (Xicana – temazcalli), Rita Navarrete Perez (Mexican – temazcalli, sobadas y hierbas), Dayana Paz (Mexican – temazcalli), and Francesca Mason Boring (Shoshone – constellation ceremony).
Myth Mending®, as I practice it, is also based in part on the contributions of Hippocrates, Plato, Carl Jung, Peter Levine, Gabor Maté, Rudolf Steiner, Bert Hellinger, James Hillman, Arny Mindell, David White, Pam England, and Whapio Diane Bartlett. In learning from these teachers, I acknowledge both their contribution to the art and science of transformation and their debt to Indigenous people who supplied, often without specific community or individual recognition, much of the material upon which their work is built.
Within the western paradigm, I have trained as a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, Family Constellation facilitator, Theater of the Oppressed facilitator, and Nutritional Therapist. I have also trained in Anthroposophy, Craniosacral Therapy and Processwork as well as a Birth Keeping, and Death Midwifery. I hold a PhD from the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies at University of British Columbia, Okanagan. I work with Indigenous girls, women and mothers in restoring ceremonial practices of birth and mothering. I also have an MA in Depth Psychology with a concentration in Community Psychology, Liberation Psychology and Eco Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute as well as an MA from St. John's College in Liberal Studies and and MA in Philosophy from the Universoty of Toronto.
You don’t have to sit through endless hours of therapy,
You don’t have to blame yourself, or others, or the world,
You don’t have to rely on willpower and mental tricks . . .
What if I told you I have a secret . . . just for you.
Myth Mending® takes place within a simple conversation carefully slowed, tracked, tenderly repaired and integrated. Sometimes it is done one on one and sometimes in a group.
Myth Mending® is a profoundly efficient and powerful way to get to the root of things and make a deep inner shift, one that echoes outward into your life and the world.
Myth Mending® is a paradigm of healing that draws on trauma resolution, somatic wisdom, curative story, ancestral healing, philosophical counsel, ceremonial practice, lineage repair and dream-craft. Myth Mending is a bit like coaching and a bit like counseling, and also nothing like them at all. Myth Mending is deeply rooted in my own somatic healing wisdom that I have developed through various western and non-western paradigms.
Myth Mending® is both ancient and innovative, powerful and efficient. It is a process for resolving trauma, recovering presence and finding your (and the world’s) deeper healing story of the past, but also the future. The rupture that so often follows trauma in our current world is not a universal and necessary reality. Traumatic rupture is part of the reality of human suffering. However, lasting traumatic damage is the result of our current dominant paradigm – its deconstruction and removal of the Indigenous and embodied ceremonial arts practiced by initiated individuals and communities as a whole. Our global ancestral cultures and the ceremonies that went with them were protective and must be restored with care and authenticity.
Are you a Therapist and what is Myth Mending®?
No. I am not a therapist. Myth Mending® simply assists the human organism to connect with its natural healing momentum. It assumes the essential integrity and wholeness of each individual. I have consciously avoided engaging in paradigms that diagnose and treat disease and mental illness. I don’t do the healing. I facilitate you doing that yourself.
Will you work with me if I am mentally ill?
I do not acknowledge the symptoms and syndromes of mental illness except in resisting them and participating in a global effort to remember the ancestral truth that mental illness is caused by western civilization and it’s attachment exclusively to “head” knowledge, its eradication of indigenous ways of knowing and continued denial of its debt to global victims (including itself) of colonialism in all it’s forms. I see grief itself as healing and despair and delusions the conditions of our current civilization. I never diagnose or treat mental illness. Instead I seek to support wholeness and repair for all.
What happens in a Myth Mending® session?
Springing from a clear intention, or obslacle (or sometimes lack of knowing where to start) a typical session starts with a simple conversation. Together we will carefully allow and track the organic emergence of the thing calling for attention. Slowly, efficiently and respectfully we will untangle the constellation in question and, frame by frame, re-imprint and re-integrate, the pieces of the story using all of the senses and psyche.
Is our work together confidential?
Myth Mending® is quite different from traditional therapy in that we won’t be going over and over all the details. You get to be fully expressed without feeling like you are giving me lots of tricky information about yourself or your relationships. Also, I am committed to seeing everything you tell me through the sacred lens of the deepest truest story as it emerges so that, in a way, I keep things confidential even from myself.
Myth Mending can help with:
Moving though relationship conflict
Work and career development, change or evolution
Personal feeling of well-being
Personal and professional commitment preparation (marriage/career)
Understanding your purpose and calling in the world
Creating and maintaining family rhythm and harmony
Finding and maintaining a healthy weight
Overcoming depression, anxiety and/or addiction
Following a dream that seems difficult or impossible
Who Myth Mending is for:
Anyone interested in receiving in depth, individual support during times of transformation and change.
People who have tried everything else and need something that works at a deeper level.
Anyone wanting to relate to conflict in a way that makes it more comfortable.
People open to embracing their inner healer as an ally and teacher.
People wanting to see things from a bigger picture without denying local reality.
Whether you're young or old, professional or artistic, introverted or extroverted, Myth Mending is powerful paradigm for becoming more and more of who you really are, who you dream you are, who you desperately want to be. Even a few sessions can make a life-changing difference, so I invite you to give it a try!
. . . or maybe someone sent you.
Whatever the case, you are most welcome.
If you have made it this far, you are probably seeking a new paradigm, something a little different from the standard of care and the protocols of therapy or the diagnosis of disease.
If you are a member of a marginalized culture or community (so very many of us are), you are beginning to witness the world awakening to the fact that the problem isn’t just with you, the marginalized, but with the dominant system and those who are consciously, as well as inadvertantly, complicit in it.
You are looking for a remembrance, a sacred healing practice,
a collaboration, a release, and a deeper awakening and healing story.
Me too.
Myth Mending sessions are $300/2 hour session
We do a lot in 2 hours (110 minutes)
Bring an obstacle or pattern you've done everything to address with little to no success and we will work toward a real and lasting breakthrough.
Guaranteed.
*Offer subject to a 3 session maximum and sessions expire after 6 months unless prior arrangements are made.

Nothing I’ve tried has come close to the kind of immediate, deep affect that working with Krista has provided. Her methods are so gentle and intuitive that it’s hard to believe the powerful results. If you’ve tried all the healthy living fads, diet programs, all the different therapies, alternative and conventional, and are still feeling stuck, please set up an appointment with Krista, and get ready for a breakthrough!
GET READY FOR A BREAKTHROUGH
~ CHELSEA ACKERMAN
I found Krista’s work to provide the most rapid and dramatic healing I’ve ever experienced. Her work really mends the body-wisdom gap we all experience by living in this distorted disconnected culture. It helps release historical trauma without having to talk it out in therapy hour after hour after hour. Krista is compassionate, connected, and present.
MOST RAPID AND DRAMATIC HEALING . . . EVER
~ JENNY RAE WALTER
I had an incredible session with Krista. I was able to pin point the family patterns that have contributed to letting the ball drop in my work life, where I could pull support from my ancestral line and make peace with this recurring issue. I felt complete acceptance and non-judgement. Krista is and intuitive, caring and attentive guide. She has a way of engaging me in the session and adding just the right insights, words and spaces to lead to a breakthrough. I will be back for topics that feel too big, deep and difficult to move through on my own.
COMPLETE ACCEPTANCE AND NON-JUDGEMENT
~ ANN DORN SEREGOW
I’ve experienced deep and beautiful changes in just a few sessions working with Krista. Her intuitive and heart-centered approach is gentle and genuine, guided by a belief in the wisdom that the body never lies. Krista brought her kind spirit, vast knowledge and desire to grow personally to every meeting, guiding me gently and capably. She truly is a “wise woman of the tribe,” a healer who is part of the community she serves.
DEEP AND BEAUTIFUL CHANGES
~ LISELLE VETSCH
Krista held a beautiful space for me. A space free of anyone’s judgments, fears or preconceptions… except my own. In holding that space she gave me the opportunity and gentle guidance to look at these and walk through them. I came out on the other side feeling more committed and surrendered. The work we did was simpler than I expected, but profound in it’s simplicity. I experienced the complete solidification of trust in my own intuition, my ability to make it through anything, and renewed faith that, whatever the outcome, my baby was meant to be born in this way (breech).
. . . A BEAUTIFUL SPACE
~ ABRA PATKOTAK
I liked the actual feeling of healing in my body. It was immediate and apparent and intense. The three biggest benefits have been the reassurance and awareness that I am where I need to be, a great feeling of calm and relaxation, and feeling ready to finally leave behind debilitating patterns and stories that no longer serve me. Krista is truly amazing.

WARM COMPASSIONATE AND HUMAN
~ KAMEE ABRAHAMIAN
Myth mending is a profound way to heal personal and cultural patterns we are stuck in because of trauma. Through Krista's work, I am finding new ways to engage with (or not engage with) toxic patterns and learning how to trust the movements that my body organically makes to do “the thing” without having to rely on my head/words. I have considered seeing a regular therapist in the past, but don’t feel I have the capacity to make them understand my issues in a way that doesn’t make me feel even more messed up. If you are sick of western psychological pathologizing you and telling you how to think and feel and heal, go to Krista. She is: Clear. Complex. Tender. I trust Krista wholeheartedly.
CLEAR. COMPLEX. TENDER
~ TAMI BRUNK
In just one Myth Mending session Krista identified the core struggle I was facing at a somatic level, and used very simple and powerful tools to get me in my body actively shifting the dynamic that I'd been trapped in for so long. The impact of that has remained with me long after my session with Krista. Krista's work gets down to the bones of the issue and works it through in a primal way, at the root. I loved her ability to hone in through the complexity of issues I brought forward, down to the core of what I needed to heal. Krista is Gentle, Powerful, Wise. She is deeply intuitive and can see what is hidden, to support you in mending fragmented aspects of your being and support your shift toward empowerment!
POWERFUL
~ FRANCA HAESLER
Myth Mending enabled me to connect inner emotional dis-ease and turmoil with embodied practice and return to modes of release and expression. It is unique. Rather than just talking through my inner state, I was able to go into a deeper place, explore and see what came out and how. I discovered aspects of myself that I hadn’t been aware of before and I was able to heal. Krista is personal, strong and nurturing. Her presence is incredibly stabilizing and supportive which over time allowed for a true discovery, release, and understanding.
DISCOVERY, RELEASE, AND UNDERSTANDING
~ MARIANNE GOTZ
Before I started working with Krista, I was afraid to have to dig deep and struggle. Now I know that dealing with trauma doesn’t have to be difficult. Krista’s Soft Animal / Myth Mending process has gone past my brain right into the cells of my body, the animal within, and only pure honest discoveries have come forth. I loved the sacredness of working with Krista, the idea that our ancestors are involved, the wholeness – involving our mind, body, spirit and beyond – right down to items for the altar. If you are open to learning a unique way to deal with trauma and become more resilient for future ones, work with Krista!
MIND, BODY, SPIRIT AND BEYOND
~ DYANNA GORDON
Being able to talk to someone who really understood the struggles that come as you move through the midwifery journey was extremely helpful. Also having someone who was unbiased and non judgmental regarding experience etc. was heart warming. I was surprised with how much trauma I still had stored and how it was affecting me moving on in my practice. I have been able to clarify where I stand. Krista was wonderful to work with. Unjudgemental, flexible and supportive. She didn’t rush the process allowing plenty of time for me to move through my emotions and thoughts but also made sure that our time together was well worth our while and resources. It was a great experience.
